Share Files - quick guide Public files Choose "Browse public files" on the home page. No account is needed. This library is read-only for visitors. Only files deliberately placed in Public are published here. Your folders Choose "Sign in" and use the account provided by the owner. On first sign-in, change the temporary password and enroll an authenticator app. Save recovery codes offline. Your account can access only its assigned folders and actions. Use Upload to add files, or select files to download, rename, move or delete when your permissions allow those actions. Private download links and upload invitations Open the invitation link directly. Enter its password when asked. A download link lets recipients retrieve the selected files or folder. An upload-only invitation lets recipients submit files to its assigned folder without reading the folder. Send passwords separately from links. Creating links Sign in, open Shares, and choose the files or folder, access type, expiration, password and usage limit. Private shares require a password. New owner shares default to one day. Revoke a share when it is no longer needed. Starting a download or uploading a file consumes a use; interrupted transfers can still consume a use. An already running transfer may finish after revocation. Publishing for everyone The owner's Public folder is visible to all visitors without a password. Check the contents before moving or uploading anything into Public. Keep personal files in other folders. Administration Use Administration from the home page. The administrator has a separate account and must change its initial password and enroll an authenticator. Create a separate account for each person. Grant only the required folder permissions: list/download, upload, overwrite, delete, rename or create directories. Use expiration and quotas when appropriate. Prefer upload-only invitations for one-time submissions. Public self-registration is disabled. If a file is unavailable The link may have expired, reached its use limit, or been revoked. Ask the sender for a new link. A busy download can be retried later. Large transfers may be slow on long-distance connections; keep the page open until complete. Sign out when finished, especially on a shared computer. Do not send your account password, authenticator codes or recovery codes to recipients.
